About LSPD

HISTORY

Los Santos is a major city that constitutes roughly a quarter of the landmass of the state of San Andreas.  Established in 1771 under rule of the Spanish Empire, today it has grown into a sprawling metropolis that hosts a population of roughly 3,000,000 people.  It is segmented into 27 districts -- some of which are home to movie and television studies, multimillion dollar estates, booming business districts, industrial ports, and the fourth busiest airport in the world.

The first specific Los Santos police force was founded in 1853 as the Los Santos Rangers, a volunteer force the assisted the existing San Andreas forces in upholding the law.  They were soon succeeded by the Los Santos City Guards; unfortunately, neither force was particularly efficient and Los Santos became known for its violence, gambling, and vice.  The first paid force was created in 1869, and in 1903 the Los Santos Police Department was formally established.

In the decades since its founding, LSPD has become a state-of-the-art police force and a role model of law enforcement that many have tried to emulate -- however, there is only one Los Santos Police Department.

It is the mission of the Los Santos Police Department to safeguard the lives and property of the people that we serve, to reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and to enhance public safety while working with diverse communities to improve their quality of life.  Our mandate is to do so with honor and integrity, while at all times conducting ourselves with the highest ethical standards to maintain public confidence.
